There’s no doubt it’s going to be an eventful year in Bath County. A major renovation is underway at The Omni Homestead. The restoration of the Warm Springs Pools is continuing on schedule. And, some exciting restaurant announcements will soon be made.
Some visitors may not be aware that Bath County is also home to some fantastic, and in some cases award-winning, special events. Here is a quick look at what’s coming up in 2022, so you can mark your calendars and make reservations early. Come be part of our event-filled year.
Garth Newel Music Center – Live performances return on the beautiful campus of the Garth Newel Music Center in 2022. Check the website for details and ticket information >
So Fly Fest – This unique celebration of all things related to fly fishing is a repeat honoree in the Best in the Blue Ridge contest voted by the readers of Blue Ridge Outdoors. It takes place May 6 – 8, 2022. It’s centered in Warm Springs, with events and guided trips happening all around the county.
Bath County Art Show – Now in its 57th year, the Bath County Art Show is one of the most popular of its kind in western Virginia. It features work from over 200 artists. During its week-long run, July 16 – 24, visitors from all around Virginia and beyond come to view and purchase pieces, in practically every artistic medium from watercolor to sculpture.
Foodlore Fridays – This popular event is back for its third season and growing by leaps and bounds. Foodlore Fridays takes place at Oakley Farm in Warm Springs each Friday between Memorial Day and Labor Day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to pick up some fresh items from local farmers, as well as sample wine and cider. Sometimes, you’ll find live music or a visiting chef cooking something special in the on-site airstream kitchen.
Bath County Fair – This classic country fair features arts & crafts, vegetable and floral contests, entertainment, midway rides, a beer garden and more. Millboro is the place for family fun on September 17, 2022.
Bath County Plein Air Festival – Entering its ninth year, the Bath County Plein Air Festival is centered in Warm Springs, but sees artists painting beautiful landscapes all around the county. The event offers a chance to observe and interact with the artists and vote for your favorite work to be honored at the reception and awards ceremony. The festival takes place each fall. Restaurant Week – The first county-wide Restaurant Week was held in December of 2021. It was a big success and a favorite event for visitors and county residents, alike. We hope to have great participation, fun activities and, of course, more delicious food for Restaurant Week 2022.

Rock Roadhouse Winery – In addition to offering tastings by appointment from spring through early fall, Bath County’s only winery has a history of offering fun special events. Visit their website often for details and reservation information >
The Omni Homestead Resort – The historic resort in Hot Springs recently launched the Virginia Wine Experience. Each month, a different winery will be featured. Guests can meet the owners/vintner, attend a seminar or enjoy an exclusive dinner.
